During a highly successful relationship that has spanned over 10 years, Impulse and Sealevel have continued to develop and strengthen our brands together in the UK market.

Back in 1999, Impulse first put pen to paper on a distribution agreement which allowed us to distribute Sealevel’s innovative board level and distributed I/O products and solutions to our customers here in the UK. This was a major milestone for Impulse, as it allowed us to develop in to a market that had previously been untapped due to lack of good product and service.

Since then, Impulse has become a leading name in Europe in the design, assembly and distribution of Industrial and Embedded Computing platforms and solutions, with an experienced System Integration team, fully qualified and Microsoft certified.

Now at the cutting edge of marketing in the Industrial Computing industry, Impulse is working closely with Sealevel to increase and promote the brand image of both companies in the UK. Here at Impulse we believe that joint marketing ventures between supplier and distributor can ultimately provide the most success. Getting product exposure and brand recognition is paramount in today’s market, and using the experience and knowledge of the product and industry that Sealevel can provide, undoubtedly proves invaluable.

Advances in digital communications and information technology has made the world we share a smaller place. A mere 25 years ago when I first began my career in industrial electronics, the mail was the primary method of transferring information such as purchase orders, technical manuals, and any other written information. Engineers usually searched for products using industry magazines and vendor catalogs. Product distributors were primarily valuable in the logistics of moving products from the manufacturer to the customer.

Everything changed of course with the advent of email and the internet. Today we live in an age where customers expect immediate response to their requests, and manufacturers must find a way to meet these expectations if they expect to be successful. Sealevel Systems, Inc. has worked very hard to provide our customers the easy ability to access information, place orders, and receive technical support using our website and other assets. However, even in this digital age, our most important asset is the people that make up our team.

A critical component of the Sealevel team is our network of international distributors we call SeaPartners. One of our longest standing and most successful SeaPartners is Impulse Corporation in the United Kingdom. The team at Impulse is well trained on Sealevel products and does a fantastic job of taking care of our customers in the U.K. with support and services that cannot be replaced by a website or an email. It has been my pleasure to see Impulse continue to grow successfully while we have worked together, and we the value they add to Sealevel’s products and support for our customers.

Sealevel 8004e and 8012 available at Impulse

Impulse is pleased to announce the availability of the 8004e and 8012 digital I/O interface PCI Express cards from Sealevel Systems. The two digital I/O interface cards offer isolated input that protects the pc and other sensitive equipment from voltage spikes and ground loop currents that are commonly found in an industrial environment.  The outputs provide high quality, long life, low current (10 Watt maximum) and dry contact switch closures. Reed relays are well suited for low current applications. The relays are normally open, and will close when energized.

8004e features

• 16 optically isolated inputs
• 16 Reed relay outputs (SPST)
• Highly reliable 10VA DIP Reed relays
• 3 – 13 VDC input range
• 300V isolation
• Socketed dip resistor allows user configurable input range up to + 24V

8012 features

• 8 optically isolated inputs
• 8 Reed relay outputs (SPST)
• Highly reliable 10VA DIP Reed relays
• 3 – 13 VDC input range

• MD1 low profile and Universal Bus (3.3V and 5V) compatible

Both boards are designed to be used with a variety of Operating Systems including Windows, Linux and DOS. The SeaI/O API Application Programming Interface included on the CD shipped with the digital I/O boards provides a variety of useful high-level function calls implemented as a Windows dynamic link library (.DLL) and as a Linux static library (.a). In addition to the API, SeaI/O includes a device driver, sample code and utilities to simplify software development.

Sealevel ACC-188 Synchronous Serial Radio Adaptors avaliable from IMPULSE

IMPULSE now offer Synchronous Serial Radio Adaptors from Sealevel Systems. The ACC-188 Synchronous Serial Radio Adaptor is now available and follows the MIL-STD-188-184 interoperability and performance standard for the Data Control Waveform.

The ACC-188 offers compatibility with a wide range of tactical radio types, including SINCGARS, EPLRS, MBMMR, MBITR and JTRS. In essence, the ACC-188 provides a high speed interoperable data solution that encompasses a Synchronous Radio Adapter Cable, which is ideal for universal connection between tactical radios and computers.

The ACC-188 is available with a PCMCIA or USB interface and is accompanied by the government-developed PDA-184 software from the Defence Industry Security Association (DISA). This easy to install software provides a simple graphical user interface that allows users to transmit and receive a large variety of data types at higher speeds.

RISC Embedded Computer Offers Unmatched I/O & Windows CE 6.0

IMPULSE is delighted to announce the release of the Relio R9 Embedded Computer from Sealevel Systems which delivers RISC computing power in a compact, rugged package.

Packed with a wealth of I/O features and using the latest embedded software environment, the system is based on the Atmel AT91SAM9263 processor boasting a 32-bit ARM instruction set for maximum performance. The Relio R9 is the perfect platform for embedded applications requiring small size, wide operating temperature range, and flexible I/O connectivity.

Available with up to 256MB RAM and 256MB Flash memory, the unmatched I/O features of the Relio R9 extend the possible uses beyond traditional ARM-based applications. Standard I/O includes Ethernet, serial, USB, CAN Bus, digital and analogue interface. For local or remote I/O expansion, the Relio R9 connects to Sealevel Sea I/O modules via the dedicated RS-485 expansion port and communicates via RS-485 Modbus RTU.

To provide the fastest time to market, the Windows CE 6.0 BSP binary and low-level drivers for system I/O are included. Additionally, the Relio R9 software package is equipped with the Sealevel Talos I/O Framework, which offers a high-level object-oriented .NET Compact Framework (CF) device interface. This interface provides an I/O point abstraction layer with built-in support for the specific needs of analogue and digital I/O such as gain control and debouncing.

The Relio R9 is housed in a rugged, small enclosure suitable for mounting almost anywhere and is rated for a full -40°C to +85°C operating temperature range. The Relio R9 is priced from just £599.00 (+VAT) and a QuickStart Development Kit is available.
